If you're the sort who drives to Costco for the sole purpose of dining in the value-priced food court, take heed.

April 8, the day of the imminent solar eclipse, also marks the sunsetting of open access to the Costco kitchens, Mike Snider reports. After that, apparently, it's members only.

In other retailing news, California's economy is witnessing a clash between capitalism and worker rights.

Fast-food chains are cutting jobs as they prepare to pay a new $20 minimum wage, which takes effect next month, Emilee Coblentz reports.

Labor unions fought for higher wages. Restaurant operators are responding by axing jobs, cutting hours and freezing hiring.
